Array Although Hurricane Katrina took half his roof, last week he was hammering on a customers door — one of thousands that lost the battle with 120 mph winds Aug. 29. DAILY Photo by Eric FleischauerCarolyn Mead found a new bar and new customers: contractors. Those who serve drinkers — like Carolyn Mead, a bartender at Quarterdeck Lounge in Gulfport — are getting a financial surge almost three months after the flood surge demolished huge sections of the city. There are a lot of people who lost everything, Mead said, who don’t know where to go. Some end up here for a drink and some company. She lived in a trailer, so she and her teenage son stayed in her mothers house. She sent her mother and her 5-year-old child away to stay with relatives. Her unoccupied trailer escaped without damage. her son lost 20. Charles Bourque, who works at Signs Plus Inc., said business has never been better. Tony Schneller, who makes neon signs, said, I could work here five years, 24/7, and still turn down business. One clever contractor papered the town with signs advertising After Disaster services. People here consistently gripe about insurance. But clustered around irreparable hovels, people vainly tied down blue tarps to houses without doors, swept driveways that led to rubble, repaired doors to houses with only three walls.

I never had problem with their bill payment till now.Blunder number #1I have made payment to 2 ASTRO bill. One bill have 2 payment credited and the second bill had zero payment. Blunder number #2I have made payment to TMNET bill for the amount RM 88 on 8 October 2005. No payment is reflected and TMNET is saying I owe them money.I have called Maybank2u customer support to logged a report on 7th November 2005.

Jacksonville, who are asked to cover 4.5 points at the Titans, are the choice of 94% of point spread bettors, while Seattle, who have to cover 12.5 points on their trip to the 49ers, are wanted by 88% of BetUSA.com clients. The Colts has been the big public team this year and there’s no change this week with floods of money for them -5.5 at the Bengals, one of four team in the NFL tied for the second best record with a 7-2 season to date. 84% of the cash so far has been on the Colts. With bye weeks now out of the way and 16 games on the board this weekend, bettors have plenty of choice about how to get their money down.Pittsburgh are popular to overcome a 3.5 point start at Baltimore and I think that the bettors have got this right. I thought this game was very close and our initial line was 3 before we shaded it to take into account the Packers’ status as a public team and the cold snap in Wisconsin, which is usually worth a point to the home team.

So the responsibility now falls in my lap.My role now is essentially to collect his bank statements from time to time to check the balances and make sure that he has enough in the current account to pay for the home charges and if it runs low, I have to bring him to the bank and transfer funds from one account to another. This is what I had to do today as his current account was running low. I knew that being an Ang Moh bloke, he wouldn’t have had much of his own kind of food often as the majority of the residents in the home were Chinese and they would have had mostly Chinese meals on a daily basis.I decided to bring him to Jack’s Place and ordered Fish and Chips complete with the full set meal of soup and dessert.I actually thought that being as old as he is, he would have probably only finished a quarter of what I ordered for him but no matter, I was just happy to give him a taste of his Western food. But when the soup came, he finished every drop of it and went through a fair bit of the fish and chips, not forgetting that he lapped up every possible spoonful of the caramel dessert that came with it.I could see contentment in his eyes as he exclaimed that he was full!

While no meals are offered, flights include the traditional soda and chips, not to mention the airline is upgrading its entire fleet to offer free XM satellite radio service. The airlines frequently rank among the tops for business and elite flyers, not to mention those in Alaska’s hinterlands that would otherwise be dogsledding were it not for their hometown airline. One of the few airlines to report profit recently, look for Alaska to continue its conservative growth rate while increasing value within its existing services.Little-known tidbit: Alaska Airlines is the only airline to offer nonstop service between Washington’s National Airport(DCA) and Los Angeles International(LAX), thanks to restrictions on airlines and routes out of National.ALLEGIANT AIRwww.allegiantair.com800-432-3810Fleet: Boeing MD-80, MD-83, MD-87 (about 20)Allegiant is undoubtedly an airline heard of by few. Allegiant’s fleet features all-leather coach seating, serving the usual soda and chips, and all travel is electronic/ticketless.Little-known Tidbit: Allegiant has partnerships with just about every major hotel in Las Vegas, often offering hotel packages that include free air travel.ALOHA AIRLINESwww.alohaairlines.com800-367-5250Fleet: Boeing 737-200, -700 (about 21)Currently operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, Aloha Airlines, along with its recently spun-off partner, Island Air, offers primarily inter-island flights across Hawaii, but has created popular transpacific flights to mainland destinations throughout California with connections to Reno and Las Vegas. 777-200, MD-80, Airbus A300-600 (about 700)The world’s largest airline (after a recent acquisition of TWA), American, in conjunction with its American Eagle and American Connection partners, operates to just about every city with commercial service in America, and most foreign destinations popular to American travelers. However, ATA has succeeded in shedding superfluous costs, continues to profit from its charter operations, and with announcements that it intends to purchase Boeing 767s, may be positioning itself as the first significant low-fare trans-Atlantic carrier.Little-known Tidbit: ATA operates an executive charter service, ATA Execujet, offering private services aboard Learjets, Cessna Citations, and Bell helicopters.CAPE AIRwww.flycapeair.com800-352-0714Fleet: Cessna 402s, ATR-42s (about 55)Another carrier heard of by few, Cape Air, and its sister airline, Nantucket Airlines, fly short-hop Cessna commuter flights, with as much as 850 flights a day during peak times, making it arguably the largest independent regional airline. Cape Air has a loyal following among its passengers with limited flight options, and anyone who has paid any attention when flying through Boston’s Logan airport (BOS) can recall seeing the many little Cessna’s wedging between their much larger jet brethren.Little-known Tidbit: Flights throughout Florida and the Carribbean, and flights throughout Guam are codeshared with Continental and are eligible for OnePass miles. Offering (with its connection services) almost 5,000 flights a day, Delta operates out of its main hub at Atlanta-Hartsfield (ATL-the world’s busiest airport), with hubs in Cincinnati(CVG) and Salt Lake City (SLC), and major operations at Boston(BOS), New York(JFK), Orlando (MCO), and Los Angeles (LAX). Look for Delta to emerge from bankruptcy as a leaner airline, specializing in high-frequency business and the ever-so-lucrative international routes.Little-known Tidbit: Delta is an anomaly among major airlines, as its pilots represent the only group of its employees unionized.FRONTIER AIRLINESwww.frontierairlines.com800-432-1FLY (800-432-1359)Fleet: Airbus A319, A318 (about 50)Denver’s hometown airline continues its struggle towards profitability while maintaining an aggressive expansion at Denver and points beyond, particularly with flights to popular Mexican destinations. In additional to the tv’s, flights offer all coach seating and the traditional soda and chips, though light snacks and wraps are offered on the longest flights to the east coast. Additionally, Hawaiian maintains a codesharing agreement with both Alaska Airlines and America West, offering passengers easy connection opportunities to mid-America and the east coast.Little-known Tidbit: Hawaiian offers its Wedding Wings program where, with ample (60 days) notice, bride, groom, and all of the wedding’s guests can receive discounted (and often same-plane) travel for the event.HOOTERS AIRwww.hootersair.com888-FLY-HOOT (800-359-4668)Fleet: 737-200, -300; Look for Hooters to continue to expand, pick up newer 737s and 757s, and possibly start low-fare international (trans-Atlantic) options.Little-known Tidbit: Owned by Hooters restaurants, Pace Airlines actually operates Hooters Air’s flights under its operating certificate. Pace is well-established as a charter carrier, popular with professional and collegiate sports teams.INDEPENDENCE AIRwww.flyi.com800-FLY-FLYi (800-359-3594)Fleet: Bombardier CRJ-200s, Airbus A319 (about 55)A year-and-a-half old airline in the public’s eye, Independence has been flying for over 15 years, formally as Atlantic Coast Airlines, commuter feeder for United.

Array The artwork in this portion of the book is fantastic with each picture setting a grim feel to the book.SECTION IIPages 76 to 121 are for the GM which includes stats of many monsters, including Banshees, Dire Wolves, Ghouls, Griffons, Vampires, Dragons, and a whole lot more. The artwork is still carrying its weight and still setting that grim feel to the book.APPENDIX IPages 121 to 125 has to do with mounts and small creatures, which includes warhorses, elven horses, snakes, and more.APPENDIX IIPages 125 to 126 has an optional hit location chart for various creatures, such as winged bipeds, avians, and more.CONCLUSIONI would say this book is well worth the price, it’s a tome of valuable resources for any GM or player for their use in WFRP2.

Array-ne Titanium dioxide is the subject of new controversy, yet it is a substance as old as the earth itself. The NIOSH declares that at 5000 mg/m cubed there was slight lung fibrosis, concluding that this substance was carcinogenic in rats. The NIOSH declaration of carcinogenicity in rats is based on a study by Lee, Trochimowicz & Reinhardt, Pulmonary Response of Rats Exposed to Titanium Dioxide by Inhalation for Two Years (1985). This sensitivity in the lungs has not been observed in other rodent species such as mice or hamsters (Warheit, 2004), therefore using the rat model to determine carcinogenicity of titanium dioxide in humans can be misleading, as extrapolation of species-specific data to humans is erroneous. Many organizations and businesses have perpetuated this assessment of the carcinogenicity of titanium dioxide (ewg.org). This does not end the debate, however, as controversy over the safety of one unique form of titanium dioxide still exists. One form of mineral or mineral extract, including titanium dioxide, that we should be concerned about is ultrafine or nano particles. at the University of British Columbia in their paper Induction of Fibrogenic Mediators by Fine and Ultrafine Titanium Dioxide in Rat Tracheal Explants (1999) found that ultrafine particles of the anatase form of titanium dioxide, which are less than 0.1 microns, are pathogenic or disease causing (see Table 1). in their study, Effects of Titanium Ions and Particles on Neutrophil Function and Morphology concluded that cytotoxicity (danger to the cell) was dependent on the particle size of titanium dioxide. Coarse or fine particles of titanium dioxide are safe and effective at deflecting and absorbing UV light, protecting the skin, but consumers should avoid using products with micronized mineral pigments, either in sunscreens or colour cosmetics. As with any health issue, relevant studies must be examined closely to reach balanced conclusions about its impact on our health and well-being.

-ne Maurice Williams, PG, Milwaukee BucksTHENUntil the trading deadline, many fantasy owners looked on with horror as Mo Williams, a sophomore NBA player out of Alabama drafted by the Jazz in the secound round, split time with Mike James at point for the Milwaukee Bucks. At the beginning of the season, James was having trouble staying healthy and staying on the court, which resulted in Mo Money playing slightly more minutes than, it turned out, he would when James was healthy. In the month of November, Williams averaged 9.9 points, 7.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 turnovers, and .8 steals, while shooting .411 FG, .800 FG, and converting .1 threes per game on .4 attempts per game. Now, I’ll agree with you that those numbers are not pretty, and are–almost certainly–numbers you should not be starting. However, I’m also obligated to tell you that his minutes during that month were, to say the least, all over the place.

It’s also truly amazing to me that Mike Wolfe never seems to bat an eyelid when Labour says how much he costs the taxpayer—a staggering £423.12 a day, which equates to a whopping £154,441.19 a year, or £392,656.19 by the time of the 5 May 2005 Mayoral Election. And to think, that £392,700 could have bought the taxpayer something useful…Besides launching this blog, Mick and I had a busy day today: meeting with the Director of RENEW (the multi-billion pound Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder) to discuss issues and the £125,000 of match funding RENEW has offered for Labour’s Heritage & Design Programme;

-ne Next year, when you go to the IRS website to find out about the new tax laws (like every good citizen should), try to avoid submitting any personal information. In Cancun (this year, I believe), when discussing the Doha Development Agenda, several sub-Saharan African countries along with some developing Asian countries expressed great displeasure with America’s (indirect or direct?) restrictions on agricultural and cotton trade. Second, I believe agricultural imports from Africa are subject to tariff-rate quotas, even though the U.S. agri-goods exports into Africa was up 15%. Are these goods subject to tariff-rate quotas because they aren’t made with U.S. yarn/fabric even though this FDI encourages the Namibian economy?

Think about it, kids: we’ve gotten our national hero (former POW Jessica Lynch), record labels are pushing like mad with songs about sticking boots in asses (a la Toby Keith), and Bush figured it’d make ratings soar, bringing him to a swell 86%, which is exactly what his father started out with at the beginning of ‘92. The insurgencies are (and who would’ve thought) caused by the government officials, and gas isn’t any cheaper, either, which is really pissing me off, since I’m going to take an active part in the driving world soon. Two weeks ago, all anyone would talk about was the prisoner humiliation, and I applaud the Bush Administration for diverting the public’s attention for a whole seven days.

At some point I’ll reach the level of frustration where I’ll be doing this anyway, so I might as well have some sort of guideline to back me up.And speaking of walking, I don’t mean to be stereotypical or racist here (no, really, I don’t) but why is it that whenever I’m stuck behind someone moving ridiculously slow and managing to take up the entire sidewalk it always ends up being an Asian girl? So this year, I tuned in and out as the first hour of the awards ran opposite The Simpsons (a sinking ship to which I still cling) and Arrested Development (the best show currently on telelvision). Musicians write songs for a reason- they represent something close to their heart and soul, and this becomes evident when a good song is performed by a good musician. I’m not saying it’s bad when a band covers another band’s song (for more on this see my side of this week’s mix tape on New Slang) but it becomes so obvious that event promoters are just trying to jam more and more into the same amount of time. Walk This Way is a good song, but the part of Run DMC should not be played by Nelly, and it certainly should never involve the nasally moan that Britney Spears passes off as singing. The next year (I think), the year of the Patriots first Super Bowl title, the halftime show was entirely done by U2 and was incredible. Evidence of this comes on the form of the Best Recording Package awarded to the designers of Wilco’s A Ghost Is Born, not to be confused with Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package which was awarded to the art director for the Talking Heads box set, Once In A Lifetime. Next year, after the singles off of HTDAAB have kicked into the musical consciousness of the world, I would love to see them take home another slew of awards. But the only song elgible for an award this year was Vertigo, which, though it has grown on me quite a bit, is certainly not even one of their better songs. U2 won for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal and Best Rock Song (which seem to me to be the same category, not to beat a dead horse or anything) in fields that included bands such as Green Day, Franz Ferdinand, and The Killers. I’m sure that Genius Loves Company was the greatest record of all time, I just didn’t listen to it, but I assure you that if it came out 5 years ago, whatever awards it won wouldn’t have been given so much as air time.Rule #3: A musical tribute involving all of the Grammy-friendly heros of the past 5 years will invariably not equal the sum of its parts. I don’t even remember which show it was for, but it involved Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl, and perhaps someone else who I can’t think of at the moment, singing London Calling as if it were a Springsteen song. The proceeds go to the Red Cross’s Tsunami Relief Fund, and you’ll understand what I mean.Rule #4: John Mayer will, for some inexplicable reason, win in categories where he is way overmatched. This is a recent rule that I first noticed two years ago when Mayer beat out James Taylor for Best Singer/Songwriter. I actually had to create this rule because Mayer’s win that year defied the basis for rule #1, an established respected star, whose best work is behind him, will continue to win Grammys.

-ne Anticipating afternoon showers, Amy gave me permission to ride in the middle of the morning, usually reserved for family time. I wasn’t sure what weather to expect, so I bundled up (and ended up stripping off my jacket sleeves on the fly, feeling like a roleur).I rode the standard loop to Sycamore Valley, out Camino Tassajara and Highlands to Livermore, Greenville/Vasco to Tesla, then back to Pleasanton via Isabel and Valley, and home via Santa Rita to Owens/BART and up Dougherty.

Array So, here is my crude estimation (ie don’t ask where I got these numbers):For the sake of arguement let’s say there are 30 million people in Canada (30,007,094 according to Stats Can)23.79% of Canadians are single males.Eliminate 15% of that for single guys looking for single guysEliminate 1/2 for non compatible age groups.Grand Total: 3, 033,677 potentially eligible single guys in Canada.Wow.Interpretation of results (I am somewhat of a scientific girl after all):WHERE ARE ALL YOU GUYS HIDING!!!!

Array The DNA segments that carry this genetic information are called genes, but other DNA sequences have structural purposes, or are involved in regulating the expression of genetic information. In eukaryotes such as animals and plants, DNA is stored inside the cell nucleus, while in prokaryotes such as bacteria, the DNA is in the cell’s cytoplasm. The two strands of DNA in a double helix can therefore be pulled apart like a zipper, either by a mechanical force or high temperature.[15] As a result of this complementarity, all the information in the double-stranded sequence of a DNA helix is duplicated on each strand, which is vital in DNA replication. Normally, with DNA in its relaxed state, a strand circles the axis of the double helix once every 10.4 base pairs, but if the DNA is twisted the strands become more tightly or more loosely wound.[26] If the DNA is twisted in the direction of the helix, this is positive supercoiling, and the bases are held more tightly together. In nature, most DNA has slight negative supercoiling that is introduced by enzymes called topoisomerases.[27] These enzymes are also needed to relieve the twisting stresses introduced into DNA strands during processes such as transcription and DNA replication.[28]Alternative double-helical structuresDNA exists in several possible conformations. The A form occurs under non-physiological conditions in dehydrated samples of DNA, while in the cell it may be produced in hybrid pairings of DNA and RNA strands.[34] Segments of DNA where the bases have been methylated may undergo a larger change in conformation and adopt the Z form. Here, the single-stranded DNA curls around in a circle stabilized by telomere-binding proteins.[42] The very end of the T-loop, the single-stranded telomere DNA is held onto a region of double-stranded DNA by the telomere strand disrupting the double-helical DNA and base pairing to one of the two strands. For example, UV light mostly damages DNA by producing thymine dimers, which are cross-links between adjacent pyrimidine bases in a DNA strand.[49] On the other hand, oxidants such as free radicals or hydrogen peroxide produce multiple forms of damage, including base modifications, particularly of guanosine, as well as double-strand breaks.[50] It has been estimated that in each human cell, about 500 bases suffer oxidative damage per day.[51][52] Of these oxidative lesions, the most dangerous are double-strand breaks, as these lesions are difficult to repair and can produce point mutations, insertions and deletions from the DNA sequence, as well as chromosomal translocations.[53]Many mutagens intercalate into the space between two adjacent base pairs. DNA intercalators are used in chemotherapy to inhibit DNA replication in rapidly-growing cancer cells.[54] In order for an intercalator to fit between base pairs, the bases must separate, distorting the DNA strands by unwinding of the double helix. As DNA polymerases can only extend a DNA strand in a 5′ to 3′ direction, different mechanisms are used to copy the antiparallel strands of the double helix.[59] In this way, the base on the old strand dictates which base appears on the new strand, and the cell ends up with a perfect copy of its DNA.Genes and genomesDNA is located in the cell nucleus of eukaryotes, as well as small amounts in mitochondria and chloroplasts. Enzymes can also bind to DNA and of these, the polymerases that copy the DNA base sequence in transcription and DNA replication are particularly important.DNA-binding proteinsStructural proteins that bind DNA are well-understood examples of non-specific DNA-protein interactions. These non-specific interactions are formed through basic residues in the histones making ionic bonds to the acidic sugar-phosphate backbone of the DNA, and are therefore largely independent of the base sequence.[68] Chemical modifications of these basic amino acid residues include methylation, phosphorylation and acetylation.[69] These chemical changes alter the strength of the interaction between the DNA and the histones, making the DNA more or less accessible to transcription factors and changing the rate of transcription.[70] Other non-specific DNA-binding proteins found in chromatin include the high-mobility group proteins, which bind preferentially to bent or distorted DNA.[71] These proteins are important in bending arrays of nucleosomes and arranging them into more complex chromatin structures.[72]A distinct group of DNA-binding proteins are the single-stranded DNA-binding proteins that specifically bind single-stranded DNA. In humans, replication protein A is the best-characterised member of this family and is essential for most processes where the double helix is separated, including DNA replication, recombination and DNA repair.[73] These binding proteins seem to stabilize single-stranded DNA and protect it from forming stem loops or being degraded by nucleases. In contrast, other proteins have evolved to specifically bind particular DNA sequences. In nature, these enzymes protect bacteria against phage infection by digesting the phage DNA when it enters the bacterial cell, acting as part of the restriction modification system.[80] In technology, these sequence-specific nucleases are used in molecular cloning and DNA fingerprinting.Enzymes called DNA ligases can rejoin cut or broken DNA strands, using the energy from either adenosine triphosphate or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.[81] Ligases are particularly important in lagging strand DNA replication, as they join together the short segments of DNA produced at the replication fork into a complete copy of the DNA template. the enzyme then seals the DNA break.[27] Other types of these enzymes are capable of cutting one DNA helix and then passing a second strand of DNA through this break, before rejoining the helix.[82] Topoisomerases are required for many processes involving DNA, such as DNA replication and transcription.[28]Helicases are proteins that are a type of molecular motor. Polymerases are classified depending of the type of template they use.In DNA replication, a DNA-dependent DNA polymerase makes a DNA copy of a DNA sequence. If a mismatch is detected, a 3′ to 5′ exonuclease activity is activated and the incorrect base removed.[85] In most organisms DNA polymerases function in a large complex called the replisome that contains multiple accessory subunits, such as the DNA clamp or helicases.[86]RNA-dependent DNA polymerases are a specialised class of polymerases that copy the sequence of a RNA strand into DNA. As with human DNA-dependent DNA polymerases, RNA polymerase II, the enzyme that transcribes most of the genes in the human genome, operates as part of a large protein complex with multiple regulatory and accessory subunits.[88]Genetic recombinationA DNA helix does not usually interact with other segments of DNA, and in human cells the different chromosomes even occupy separate areas in the nucleus called chromosome territories.[90] This physical separation of different chromosomes is important for the ability of DNA to function as a stable repository for information, as one of the few times chromosomes interact is when they recombine. A number of other problems, including simulation of various abstract machines, the boolean satisfiability problem, and the bounded version of the travelling salesman problem, have since been analysed using DNA computing.[112] Due to its compactness, DNA also has a theoretical role in cryptography, where in particular it allows unbreakable one-time pads to be efficiently constructed and used.[113]History and anthropologyBecause DNA collects mutations over time, which are then inherited, it contains historical information and by comparing DNA sequences, geneticists can infer the evolutionary history of organisms, their phylogeny.[114] This field of phylogenetics is a powerful tool in evolutionary biology. Avery identified DNA as this transforming principle.[121] DNA’s role in heredity was confirmed in 1953, when Alfred Hershey and Martha Chase in the Hershey-Chase experiment showed that DNA is the genetic material of the T2 phage.[122]In 1953, based on X-ray diffraction images[123] taken by Rosalind Franklin and the information that the bases were paired, James D.

-ne Cramming. Yep, it is already our trademark of a U.P student when it comes to school work. student is not and how one can defeat it-the root of them all, the cramming stuff. It maybe the effect of loads of homework and lessons to be studied and so no time left for advance readings. I’ve already tried it seventy times seven times. I got low scores of course every time I did that! *“What?”, asked someone* We’ll be prepared for a pop quiz any time. We need to have a study schedule every night for schoolwork so that we use our time efficiently. We can save our time and money if we plan ahead of time. When the bell rings at 7:30 it will signal us to go inside our classrooms and wait for the assigned students who’ll say the morning prayers for the whole U.P.

We still have little piles of snow left in the church’s parking lot from the blizzard. Yesterday Son was outside spreading out a pile of snow, to make it melt faster and he found a Class Ring in one of the piles.

-ne At the beginning of this summer I was challenged by a mere 18 mile ride. Rather than again tackle last week’s 43 mile ride, I’m going to ride the 18 miles from Bilter Rd to Geneva and back, while pushing myself for speed. That said, I think that an average speed of 20 mph should be reasonable, sustainable and safe as regards other users of the Prairie Path. If I do reasonably well this weekend, say an average speed somewhere between 15 and 18 mph), I’ll hit the 43 mile trek next weekend.
